  Someone else asked me the same question. She made a painting called "The King's Pawn", which could have been of Anne Boleyn. I presume Barbara must have sold this painting before I met her, as I have never seen the painting in her house. I know this painting has been reproduced as prints (probably in the late 70's early 80's), but that's about all I know.

  Is it possible that she painted two pictures as we have what looks suspiciously like an painting with brush strokes. signed Barba Tate.
  
  could this be one of Barbara's? It has been at my work for years but we have only just looked up the artist.

  Barbara definitely would not have painted two of this same painting. The King's Pawn is definitely one of Barbara's paintings, but unfortunately I have no idea who she sold it to or when. She sold quite a few paintings in the states and in continental Europe. It is possible that you have the original, but you are also the third person making the same claim. Very very interesting. I wonder if someone actually copied some of her paintings.

  hello, we have a print of nasturtiums in a tall glass ,it is signed barba tate and is in a 1970s style frame,can anyone tell us any information on this print,we think it is possibly 1970s also would this print be collectable at all ? thankyou

  Hello there, is your picture definately a print? as we also have a pictute of Nasturtiums in a tall glass vase which my husband is convinced is an oil painting as you can see the brush strokes. Unless of course it's a print with some sort of varnish over it.
  The frame is rather dated and predominately brown hesian. Is yours similar?
  Any info would be welcome.
  I am currently engrossed in Barbara's "West end girls" book. It is fantastic! And I have to keep on reminding my self that it really happened and that it's not the usual ficticious rubbish that I read. Wow, what a woman and what a life!

  Hi I printed your picture in 1970 on a flatbed
  litho press while working in oldbury for Bentley Photo Litho. I think Solomon Whitehead may have commisioned it,they no longer exsist.
  They also did prints of David Shepherd,and Terrance Cuneo,s work. All of which i reproduced.
  I too have this print although mine is not personally signed.
  My guess is it would sell for a reasonable price, from memory i only printed 2 or 3 hundred of them.I have mine hanging in my dining room and enjoy looking at it.

  I am very glad you are enjoying West End Girls. When I read the manuscript for the first time I also couldn't believe it is real, but it certainly is! I still have a couple of photographs of Mae, and she looked indeed as Barbara described her.
  
  With regards to the painting "Nasturtiums", I am pretty certain that yours is a print. Barbara's estate is still in posession of Barbara's estate. The brown hessian was used quite widely as a border for her prints.
