The last (and possibly only) live footage of Barbara Tate. In this video, Barbara tells the story behind her oil painting "The Moon Goddess". It is a wonderful story peppered with fact and fantasy. It perfectly captures the essence of Barbara's imagination. Please view the video to experience Barbara the way she was a few short months before her death.

My Mum has this picture on her wall and she brought it in Reading years ago. Does anyone know who has the original and how many copies were made?

What an interesting lady, and what an interesting life she lead!

Truly astounding! Hope her soul rests in peace. Lot of love,

I have just read 'West End Girls' which I enjoyed immensely. I was both sad and glad for the women at times and enjoyed hearing about the personalities involved.

I wanted to see Barbara's art work and love the paintings of the women and the mood captured.

I have just read her book, which I found absolutely fascinating.
I worked in sex shops in Soho from the mid 70s to the early 90s and came into contact with many working girls and their maids. They would pop in for various items - canes, whips, handcuffs, French maids outfits etc. and I would often enjoy a pleasant chat. Now I wonder if I ever encountered any of the characters depicted in the later stages of the narrative. I would like to think so......

I have a lovely painting by Barbara Tate, it is the Marigolds painting, and I absolutely love it. Does anybody know if it is worth anything, not to say I would sell it, but it would be nice to know.

Polaripete, Ive always wondered HOW girls become maids, its not as though they can pop down the Jobcentre to arrange an interview. And the women in soho always seem to happy! Id love to work in Soho, as long as the job was fairly innocent!
